    SprutCAM 12 release
A new version of SprutCAM 12 has been released. A new interface, new technological operations, a new 2D CAD editor, improved visualization, new modeling, PMI import, integration with TeamCenter, G-code based milling and more.

    SprutCAM 12 is out now!

    New in SprutCAM 12:

    New UI
We have completely redesigned the main window: the buttons use less space, the work has become faster. 3D lighting, details and shadows are now better. It provides a much better user experience.

    New operations
There is a new Adaptive SC High Speed Machining operation which provides rapid calculation, super-flexible parameters for demanding users, and better tool life due to cutting into workpiece using Roll-In Technique.

This operation includes machining the mesh models. There are strategies at this operation: Scallop, Helical, and Parallel to plane.

Plunge roughing, 5D surface for cladding, check holder in roughing waterline and 3D operations, Collision avoidance for links.

    New simulation method: Rock Solid
The workpiece model is polygonal and there is no rasterization. This provides high accuracy for big solids with lots of fine details. This is perfect for prismatic parts machining. The simulation is up to 3 times faster.

    New 2D CAD
Finally we have included a completely new 2D editor where Yyu can make drawings and auxiliary construction for technological operations. The 2D CAD editor is made on the basis of synchronous technology and has the possibility of parametric modeling.

And also: PMI import, integration with TeamCenter, and G-code based milling are included.

Creation of tool library is not functional. First, there is no export of the database available, which is a HUGE problem.
Second, it is impossible to save precisely the tools created. After restarting SprutCam, some of the tools aren’t saved at all and others are modified.

Spindle direction for the tools in the library changes form Right to Left even after several saving of the database.

This is the biggest bug I have found so far. Plus, after it performed an update it began to work very slow and crashes a lot.

All of the problems above were found on both windows 10 and 7 professional.

But…nevertheless this is a very good software. I recommend it with every chance I get.
